The nearest airports are Granada (an hour and half to La Jarilla), Almeria (about the same distance) and Malaga (about one hour and 45 minutes) where, at any one of them, you can hire a car.  If you want to stay put once here, to enjoy the retreat aspect of La Jarilla with bird watching and endless walks etc, I can arrange to collect and return you to the airport.  I suggest that you stop at Carrefour (supermarket) which is on the east side of exit 131 on the Granada-Motril motorway, to stock up for the week, or Carrefour at Rincon de la Victoria, just east of Malaga, exit 251, when coming from Malaga airport or Carrefour (supermarket) at El Ejido at exit 406 on the coastal motorway out of Almeria.  The nearest proper shops thereafter are in Orgiva, which is 40 minutes from La Jarilla.  Should you tire of your own cooking there are four typical restaurants within half an hour on the Contraviesa ridge, the nearest being Haza de Lino, where you leave the main road to approach La Jarilla.  A cook is available for lunches and dinners, by prior arrangement.
